ACQUIRED IMMUNO DEFICIENCY SYNDROME

The HIV virus spreads through sexual intercourse with more than one person.

This destroys the immune system in an individual and leads to death.


CAUSES


Illegal relationships.

Sharing injection needles.

From mother to the child during pregnancy.

Blood transfusion.

Spreads from the affected partner either husband or wife.

Homosexuality.


SYMPTOMS


Fever, head ache, blurred vision.

Continuous cough showing indications of T.B.

Loss of weight, tiredness.

Stomach pain with diarrhea.

Loss of appetite with vomiting sensation.

Itching all over the body.

Jaundice.

Itching in reproductive parts.

White discharge from the genital organs.


DIAGNOSIS


The person affected with HIV can't be diagnosed for the first 3 months (Window Period). It can be diagnosed by ELISA TEST and

HIV VIRAL LOAD, CD4 and CD8 COUNT indicates accurate effect of the disease.


TREATMENT


AIDS-HIV POSITIVE patients while getting treatment in the hospital, should get a HIV VIRAL LOAD , CD4 and CD8 test report from

any of the blood testing centers.


Within 15-30 days of the treatment the external symptoms will be cured.


Once in 2 months, through the HIV VIRAL LOAD TEST, the patient can feel the improvement by the death of HIV viruses.

Patients are advised to continue the treatment till the HIV VIRUS completely eradicated.

HSV (HERPES SIMPLEX VIRUS)

It is caused by HERPES SIMPLEX virus. HSV1 & HSV2 are the two types of viruses.

It spreads through sexual intercourse & lack of personal hygiene. This virus affects the mouth, tongue, nose and the

reproductive organs mainly.


SYMPTOMS


The person with HERPES PROGENETALIS infection shows the following symptoms:


Swellings with irritation and pain.

Rashes and wounds in reproductive organs.

Irritation and pain while passing urine.

Headache, rise in body temperature and constipation.

Severe ache in abdomen.

Itching in several parts of the body and skin rashes occur.

White discharge in female reproductive organs.


TREATMENT


Blood test named HSV1&2(IgG & IgM) is done and further treatment is given to destroy the spread of viruses completely.


After the HSV1&2 test, if the patient is positive in any one of the test or both, the patient is advised to undergo further treatment and take

reports from the labs to which the patient is comfortable with.


Also the patients are advised to continue the treatment seriously until the HSV 1&2(IgG & IgM) are completely negative.

VDRL

Gonorrhea & Syphilis comes under this category.


Gonorrhea & Syphilis are the causative organisms of the disease.


CAUSES


Lack of personal hygiene.

From the affected mother to the child.

Sexual intercourse.

Homosexuality.

Through blood transfusion.


TREATMENT


VDRL & TPHA test is done and the treatment is given based on the seriousness of the disease.

VDRL disease treatment is very important since VDRL & TPHA POSITIVE patients lose their chances of going to foreign countries .


While treatment of VDRL & TPHA, the patients should get a report of their own from any of the blood test centers.


Within 15-30 days of treatment external symptoms gets cured.


After 2 months of the treatment the patients can feel the difference and the disease getting cured by VDRL & TPHA methods.

During the final stages of treatment the patient can get a report from other labs too & know about

his VDRL-NON-REACTIVE TPHA-NEGATIVE results.

HbsAg

Hepatitis B

It is caused by Hepatitis-B virus. it does not manifest any symptoms as Jaundice does. It spreads very rapidly where the liver is mainly affected.


CAUSES


Blood transfusion

Through sexual intercourse.

From infected mother to fetus.

Through un-sterilized tattooing needles.


SYMPTOMS


Rashes all over the body.

Improper digestion.

Head ache & tiredness.

Stomach pain.

Liver enlargement.

Body & joint pains.


DIAGNOSIS & TREATMENT


After testing of HBs Antigen, treatment is given. HBs antigen positive patients can observe the improvement

within 1 week of treatment.

Patients are advised to take blood tests on a regular basis. Within a short span of treatment,

patients can notice the improvement. Patient should undergo treatment until he becomes HBs negative.


SINUS

Majority of the people have the symptoms of cough, running nose, irritation in nose, flow of tears from eyes.


REASONS


Consumption of cool drinks.

Exposure to cold climatic conditions.

Inhalation of polluted air and smoke.

Eating of refrigerated food items.


SYMPTOMS


Reddishness of nose due to itching & irritation.

Reddishness of eyes, with flow of tears.

Difficulty in speaking.

Auditory problems.

Head ache.

Wheezing i.e. difficulty in breathing.

Discharge of fluid from nose.

Continuous cold.


TREATMENT


Within one week of treatment, the patient can find the improvements. Within 2 to 3 months,

the external & internal symptoms reduce and the patient's health improves which can be very clearly noticed.


ASTHMA

It has a major effect on the respiratory tract, mainly the lungs. The mode of transmission is through air.


CAUSES


Cold for a longer duration

Prolonged exposure to dust and smoke


SYMPTOMS


Pain in chest.

Difficulty in breathing,

Pain in rib bone.

Increased sweating.

Wheezing.


TREATMENT


After one week of treatment symptoms of wheezing is cured. About 90% of the disease can be cured on continuous treatment

ECZEMA (LEUCODERMA/VITILIGO)

It is a type of skin disease with white patches found all over the body.


CAUSES


Unknown cause.

SYMPTOMS


Dry, reddened skin that itches or burns.

It varies from person to person according to the type of eczema.

Change in color of normal skin.

Intense itching is generally the first symptom in most of the people . Sometimes, it may lead to blisters and oozing lesions.

It can also result in dry and scaly skin. Repeated scratching may lead to thickened, crusty skin.

Any region of the body may be affected.

In children and adults, it typically occurs on the face, neck inner side of elbows, knees, and ankles.

In infants, it occurs on the forehead, cheeks, forearms, legs, scalp, and neck.

Eczema can sometimes occur as a brief reaction that only leads to symptoms for a few hours or days, but in other cases,

the symptoms persist over a longer time and are referred to as chronic dermatitis.



TREATMENT


After one week of medication improvement is observed. The patient is completely relieved from itching within 15 days of treatment.

The patient is advised to take the medicine until he is completely cured.


PSORIASIS

Psoriasis is a non-contagious chronic skin condition that causes rapid reproduction of skin cells resulting in red,

dry patches of thickened skin. The extra skin cells form scales and red patches that are itchy and sometimes painful.

It commonly affects the skin of the elbows, knees, and scalp.


About 20% of world's population is usually affected by this disease. People between 5-25 yrs of age are commonly affected.

Women have higher risk of developing psoriasis.


CAUSES

Smoking and alcohol consumption.

Skin infections.

Vitamin D deficiency.


SYMPTOMS


Rashes appear in the form of coin.

Hardness of skin in forearms, palms & all over the body.

Scales are found all over the body i.e.; in affected parts.

Puss is formed in the areas affected by germs. It is seen in different shapes.

Reddish pimples and skin rashes appear. There will be soft, bright and shiny scales. Bleeding occurs while scratching.


TREATMENT


It persists for a long time in body. Special treatment is done for this disease.

Scales which are formed on the body will fall off within one week of treatment. Maximum Symptoms disappear after the treatment.


T.B

It is caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The immunity of the body is very much reduced.

It may also be due to continuous asthma & wheezing.


SYMPTOMS


Chronic cold.

Fever in the evening.

Weight loss and emaciation of body.

Loss of appetite, dislike over food.

Tiredness and paleness of body.


TREATMENT


Re-establishment of the immune system in the body. MANTOUX test is done in blood.Within 15 days

of treatment improvement is seen.There is decreased fever in the body & increase in body weight.





ARTHRITIS

It is a rheumatic condition where the joints are inflammed.


SYMPTOMS


Swelling, pain, difficulty in movements, pain in knee joints


CAUSES


Consumption of potatoes and other tuber items.

Hereditary.

Due to lack of Synovial fluid.

Rheumatic fever in young stage also causes arthritis.

Infections such as Lyme disease.



RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS

It is inflammation, swelling and pain in and around the joints and other body organs.


SYMPTOMS


Pain, swelling and stiffness of joints.

Joint deformity.

Fever.

Weight loss & weakness.

Unsteadiness during walking.


OSTEOARTHRITIS


Synovial fluid that is present in between bones & knee joints gets dried thereby causing pain. There are chances of swelling in affected areas.


T.B ARTHRITIS


Chillness of body during evening leading to fever.

Weakness of body.

Cough & wheezing.


DIAGNOSIS & TREATMENT


Through RA factor Rheumatoid arthritis is diagnosed and treatment is given. Treatment is also given for other type of knee pains.


JAUNDICE

Eyes, tongue, body & urine appears yellow in color. Bile duct appears along with blood in the outer region.

The whole body appears yellow in color. This is caused due to diet problem. Intake of hot & spicy food causes indigestion.

This affects bile duct, by blocking the blood causes this disease.


SYMPTOMS


Paleness of toe, whole body particularly in sole & eyes.

Yellow discoloration of sclera, tongue, urine, skin.

Flaccidity in upper & lower limbs.

Anorexia.

Indigestion, nausea.

Constipation & dryness of skin.


TREATMENT


Patients can observe improvement within 1 week of treatment. They are advised to follow the medication until they are completely cured.


ULCER

In changing life style & culture ulcer is also the one of the major disease seen.


CAUSES


Fast food culture.

Spicy fried foods.

Improper diet

Stress.

Mental pressures.

Increased intake of caffeine (tea, coffee)

Intake of high dose medications/medicines.


SYMPTOMS


Indigestion, acidity.

Anorexia, vomiting.

Epigastric pain

Constipation.

All these above symptoms may affect large intestine & small intestine leading to constipation.

PILES

CAUSES


Hot & spicy food.

Low fiber diet.

Fast food.

Psychosomatic (tensions & increased anxiety).

In this disease there are 3 stages. They are :-


Internal:


Piles is present inside the body. Internal hemorrhoids are present.


Prolapse:


This progress after internal hemorrhoids occurs. They are not painful until they bleed & prolapsed. They become enlarged.


External:


They appear outside the external sphincter. External hemorrhoid are present.


TREATMENT


The patient is advised to follow the medicine until he is completely cured.

HCV (Hepatitis C)

It is a liver disease caused by hepatitis C virus.This is caused due to attack of viruses in pancreatic duct. 3% of world's population is affected.

Blood transfusion.

Sexual transmission is also possible.

From unsterile needles.

Tooth brush.


SYMPTOMS


Tiredness

Low grade fever.

Loss of appetite.

Nausea.

Stiffness & pain in knee joints.

Itching all over the body.

In later stages cirrhosis of liver is caused which detritus liver.


DIAGNOSIS


Anti HCV & HCV VIRAL LOAD are the tests done to find the accuracy in blood.

The persons who are affected with HCV can't donate blood & they lose the chance of going abroad.

After few days of treatment, severity of disease is reduced and blood test is done

at frequent intervals of 6-8 months. Improvement can be noticed & felt by the patients also.
